The Thermoplast company is a Polish-Swiss joint venture, which was established in 1989. Since its founding, the company specializes in developing solutions to problems in the industry and is a competent partner. At the beginning, the company used Swiss and Austrian consultancy in the field of production of plastic window frames, extrusion of profiles and construction of extrusion tools. In 1999, Thermoplast obtained the ISO 9001 certificate, which at that time ensured its place in the group of the first Polish enterprises that implemented a system compliant with this standard. Currently, the company specializes in designing and constructing of extrusion tools and the basic product groups are technical profiles for industries, furniture profiles and fencing ribbons.

CHALLENGES

Maintaining the highest quality standards, constant improvement of efficiency and constant search for better solutions for Partners are factors that were the starting point to find a solution supporting the company’s operations. Therefore, in 2008 the company decided to implement the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0. To meet the changes on the market, the company’s representatives decided to upgrade the software to the latest version. The change was dictated by the willingness to use the newest available solutions. Moreover, the company wanted to remodel the concept of warehouse transaction execution and the valuation of product costs. An important issue was also the implementation of the management module, accounting and registration of activities as part of the tool construction processes. In addition, Thermoplast wanted to sort out material structures and technological processes taking place in the enterprise.

BENEFITS

The choice of Microsoft solution was dictated by functionalities that were able to meet the business processes of Thermoplast Sp. z o.o. With the help of NAV24, the new version of Dynamics NAV (2017) was implemented, thus facilitating work through a simple interface and new technological solutions. What’s more, it was possible to improve the settlement of production orders’ costs and the process of mapping transactions and inventory. In addition, representatives of NAV24 performed integration of tool management processes in the field of building and repairing tools with other system modules. Additionally, appreciating the possibilities of a solution that responded to the current needs of the organization and due to its integrity with other Microsoft solutions, Thermoplast Sp. z o.o. has also decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM) and Office 365, which have to support the activities of traders and the Customer Service Office.
